After a long wait, and a series of various “coming soon” splash pages, mateowellman.com has finally launched its 2.0 version.

What took so long?

Over the past few years, mateowellman.com has seen many rough drafts and initial concepts. However, none of them made it past the cutting room floor. The problem was that they all felt uninspired. This problem was only solved when I started to ask myself, “what inspires me?” Not only did I ask this question of myself, I asked it of friends, family and collegues. It’s fascinating what inspires, what motivates. It’s the reason you get out of bed. It’s what you think about before falling asleep. Creativity is the reaction to inspiration. What I’ve learned is that any great idea –  a website, a logo, a song, a novel, etc. – must be born from a moment of inspiration.

Strangely, the new site’s inspiration IS inspiration. I hope the new mateowellman.com provokes the question, “what inspires me?”
